The first results reveal both proven favorites and unexpected surprises – and there are quite a few this year! Among them stand out the hidden gems of Slovenia, family outings, weekend getaways, and the best experiences across the country, which are fighting day by day for the top spot. This clearly demonstrates how diverse and varied the tourist map of our country is. Who will ultimately win the prestigious title of Best Of Local 2026 in the Slovenia Travel Experience category is still unknown – but one thing is certain: the competition is exceptional, and the tension rises with every vote!
Interim results reveal interesting ideas and tight “battles” on the ground. For example, in the hidden gems subcategory (Hidden Gems) between Šmartno in Brda and Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici – both destinations captivate with beautiful nature and excursion paths among vineyards.
Diversity is also evident in the Indoor Fun subcategory, where interactive exhibitions prevail over amusement parks. This means that families, in addition to activities for children, are also choosing opportunities to acquire new knowledge.
In the beautiful viewpoints category (Best Viewpoints), votes are evenly distributed from alpine heights to Prekmurje plains. So who will ultimately win among the best spots for ideal “selfies”?
In the family trips category (Family Trips), voters favor as many as five destinations, spread across the entire Slovenia, with extremely small differences in votes – we do not reveal details, let the voters decide.
The new subcategory of boutique accommodations has pleasantly surprised us: a Prekmurje provider leads with an insurmountable advantage over the competition.
